The Rapid City Police Department has rolled out a free smartphone app that can send anonymous tips to authorities.

The department last year launched Tip411, which allows users to use text messaging or the Internet to send anonymous tips.

Now with the addition of the app available in the iTunes store, anyone with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can instantly send information anonymously.

Other tip submission options include texting “RCPD” and the info to 847411, filling out a secure online form on the Rapid City Police Department’s website, or clicking on the “Submit a Tip” tab on the department’s Facebook page.
