For those of you not familiar with Tiziano Crudeli , he can be seen, among some other crazy Italian soccer fanatics, on 7 Gold coverage of Serie A.   Make no mistakes about it.  This guy is just about the most die-hard fan you will ever see.  He even puts his fellow enthusiasts ( including this guy ) to shame.  And that is no easy task.  Don't believe me?  Just check him out for yourself.  You will not be disappointed, unless of course over-exuberant celebrations are not your thing. Here's a story that will make you wince in pain just thinking about it and shrug off any future minor splinters.  A futsal soccer player died in Brazil after a piece of the court's wooden floor pierced his abdomen.  It looked as if the 23-year old player was fully alert and well as he was being strapped to the gurney, but died  of hemorrhagic shock a day after the game. Making a play on an oncoming forward, Robson Rocha Costa made a slide tackle near the goal line.  Apparently, a piece of the surface hit his thigh and went up into his intestines.  He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he had surgery to fix the problems, but he succumbed to the injuries a day later. I never understood playing soccer in old gyms, and seeing this story makes me think back to all the times I ill-advisedly slid across a gym's surface to make a tackle.  This is a very unfortunate, and bizarre accident, that hopefully schools will use as an example to create awareness for grungy gyms and finding these soccer leagues actual fields or legitimate indoor stadiums with turf.  It's unfortunate a life had to be lost for this.   It conjures up bad memories of the luger at the Olympics whose death spurred more serious discussions regarding the safety of the luge courses. You have your highlight reel shootout goals and your lowlight reel shootout attempts.  A penalty shot (or shootout attempt) is not quite the equivalent to a wide open layup/dunk attempt in basketball, because you have to actually get it past someone, but failing to execute your move and blundering could result in the same type of humiliation. With the Stars in the 10th spot of the Western Conference, trailing the Red Wings by four points, Dallas needed a win in a big way and they got it with a 4-3 win over the Capitals in shootout fashion.  It came with hilarity, as well.  With the shootout tied at one apiece,   Alex Semin had a chance for the Capitals to break the tie.  Unfortunately for him, he tripped over himself and went sliding to the back boards.  As Turco said after the game, it wasn't a total train wreck because he got a shot off, but it was a pretty embarrassing miss.  It made for an awkward moment for Turco, too, who had no idea how to react to Semin's klutziness. A good indicator of when you've totally disgraced yourself in life is hearing Nelson Muntz coming out of nowhere and letting out a hearty "ha-ha!"  You can hear Nelson around the 11 second mark.  We're pointing and laughing at you, Semin.  Go hide. This image of "the perfect drift" on the streets at night should be enough to make any rally car racer proud.  After all, if they all had skills like this, there would likely be a lot less spectators getting hit and cars falling off cliffs .  Unfortunately, not everyone can be this good. It appears as though Chad Ocho Cinco is not the only one getting ready to make his mark on season 10 of ABC's Dancing With the Stars .  Erin Andrews has also been getting herself ready for what has become one of America's favorite reality television contests.  It is just too bad that she has decided to taken the logical training route, and hit the dance floor with her partner, rather than enjoying some naked runs in the wilderness (not that we haven't already seen her in the nude before ).
