They have been posted today under the headline ‘Smiling paramedic poses for pictures taken by police officer beside crashed ambulance that overturned on 999 call’.
An onlooker, stuck in traffic caused by the accident, said: ‘They couldn’t stop giggling and messing around. It just seemed very wrong to me. It was very unprofessional.’

The accident happened at 3.40pm at the Tonbridge Road junction with the A228.
Kent Police cars and other ambulances were called to the scene.
No patients were on board and neither ambulance crew members nor the occupants of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries.
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The ambulance was not carrying any patients.
“It was en route to another incident in the area at which SECAmb was already on the scene. Another vehicle was assigned to back up the clinicians already at the scene of this emergency.
“No one required hospital treatment as a result of the RTC. The driver of the other vehicle and the crew were all treated and assessed at the scene for minor injuries.
“RTCs such as this involving our vehicles are thankfully rare, but we take safety extremely seriously and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
